Nature shows us that on the other side of what looks like destruction is always creation. New growth is seeded in the fertile soil formed from the detritus of previous seasons. What is emerging is a story, or a journey with the Soulflowers in this collection, to provide inspiration and support for our emotional and spiritual growth as we move through our individual and collective healing journey.
The journey towards UNITY begins with Borage (OPTIMISM) (Borago officinalis), planting a seed of hope in our hearts as we find ourselves feeling like everything we have ever known is collapsing.
On the surface things seem dire, but without hope, without dreams, we remain stuck and cannot create anything new.
Borage encourages encourages playfulness & spontaneity to help uplift your spirits when you are feeling disheartened and blue. She will help you to rise above sorrow and hopelessness, and instill fresh courage, enthusiasm and confidence in your ability to move through life's obstacles.
Surrounded by chaos and uncertainty, Chamomile (STABILTY) (Matricaria recutita) is soothing and comforting, reminding us of our inner serenity and warmth while we patiently wait for each storm to pass and the right conditions for our personal growth to arise.
Every moment, every interaction, every experience is an opportunity to practice fierce serenity and the sacred art of holding space—for yourself and others.
Chamomile reminds you that even when faced with challenges and difficulties, your soul's warmth, serenity and equanimity is always present within, soothing and calming, to help you weather any storm in a relaxed, harmonious state.
In perfect timing, as we are ready to move through our individual growth processes, Echinacea (CONSCIOUSNESS) (Echinacea purpurea) stimulates and helps to break up and release outdated personal stories, emotions and attachments that may be holding us back.
This is the process of gaining awareness of the stories and beliefs we carry about ourselves and our lives that are actually just that...stories. Becoming conscious is a feeling, a knowing, an understanding of who we are outside of our personal and collective experiences that actually can’t be rationalized at all with our current understanding of reality.
If we are not our stories...who are we?
Echinacea addresses the conscious thoughts we have around who we are. Helping us to recognize that they are not who we are, just part of who we are playing in this lifetime, as a way to learn about and understand who we are.
It takes soooo much courage to look at our selves in this way. Learning to follow your heart can sometimes be mighty uncomfortable...but then, so is all meaningful growth.
The question is, in learning to follow your hearts, can you act on your intuitive impulses, in the moment, when you receive the nudge? Or...do you tend to slip into negative self-talk, overthinking, and fear and instead ignore and suppress them?
Our hearts are so wise! Our bodies, as Earth, are so wise!
Hawthorn (COURAGE) (Crataegus spp.) is here to help you find the courage and inner strength to keep your guiding heart open whenever challenges threaten to close you down or stunt progress.
Hawthorn is medicine for the heart on all levels, helping you to face and overcome your fears and facilitating self-love and self-acceptance. She supports a strong and protected open-hearted state allowing you to fully give and receive love, so you can remember your own strength and power.
If you have been feeling groggy and sluggish and weighed down with worries and fears and what if’s? Nettle (TRANSFORMATION) (Urtica dioica) energy is like a short, sharp (and loving) slap to the face helping you to WAKE UP!
Awakening and opening further, Nettle moves congestion, physically and energetically, and deeply nourishes and strengthens us to align with and speak our new awarenesses, our new understandings. And as the storm clouds of our fears dissipate, we find new strength to tackle the unhealed, neglected places in our lives that are asking for our compassion and understanding.
Nettle helps you transform foggy thinking so that you can respond to prickly or heated situations by speaking up for yourself, in alignment with your truth, without harboring resentment or attachments that leave you feeling tired, congested and irritated.
Slowly, slowly we unfold, we become, and Rose (JOY) (Rosa rugosa) gently opens our hearts and minds to the love that we all are, to the sweetness of life and the light that flows through everyone and everything, even the painful experiences.
Rose is the symbol of the Divine Mother, and as such holds the highest vibration of unconditional love on this planet. And she is everywhere, flowing through all things, including your heart, but has been hidden, intentionally obscured, beaten down and misrepresented so that we instead focus on thorn-filled brambles of pain and suffering that we must constantly battle, but which never cease growing and multiplying.
Rose is your life preserver.
Rose fills your heart, buoying you up with love and joy and helping you to stay afloat. So that you can pause struggling and battling and instead allow the flow of life to move through you, as you. She helps spiral open your heart from within so that you can remember yourself as love embodied, and reconnect with Source.
And every choice you now make from this place of Divine balance, from this place of love, is like throwing a life ring out to others as well as maintaining your own.
Having felt this truth move deeply through us, we remember we are far more than just flesh and blood, and Self-Heal(RESPONSIBILITY) (Prunella vulgaris) supports us to take full responsibility for all aspects of our precious lives.
Responsibility is a complex subject and often refers to caring for others. But where Self Heal really shines her light is on the responsibility we carry for our own well-being—that accepting responsibility for our own personal journeys, our own choices, and our own actions is perhaps the single most important thing we can do; perhaps the ONLY thing we can truly do.
Rather than being helpless victims, we can choose to be active participants and creators. True healing then engages the whole of your being in a spiraling process of deeper and deeper levels of understanding and self-awareness.
It's a lot! So Wood Betony (GROUNDING) (Stachys officinalis) gently holds us as we ground and fully embody the truth of who we, our Divine nature, deep into our Earth bodies and equally begin to see it in all others.
Wood Betony energy is very calming and supportive, helping you connect with your intuition and gut feelings, and strengthening your boundaries, so that you can manage relationships and responsibilities with ease and a strong sense of physical and emotional well-being.
With this embodied understanding of our interconnection with all life, Yarrow (BOUNDARIES) (Achillea millefolium) empowers us to express ourselves and our creative energy from the inside out, with a powerful and strong sense of self and healthy understanding of what nurtures and supports our continued growth and what doesn't.
Like a little umbrella or shield, Yarrow offers protection from negative energies or toxic influences. She helps you to build strong, healthy boundaries and compassionate awareness of self and others, and to avoid unnecessary energy leaks and general depletion as you continue evolve and grow.
Building trust with our own inner wisdom is an ongoing practice...especially as we have been programmed for generations not to trust our innerstanding. Wherever you are, may you continue to build a deep and loving relationship with yourself day by day, hour by hour, breath by breath.
The bottles that are in the flower essence kit are known as stock bottles. There are different ways people use stock bottles. Gently shake the stock bottle to awaken the essence’s healing gifts before using. Pause and connect with your heart. Offer gratitude to the flower’s healing gifts.
1) Place 1-2 drops from the flower essence you are called to use directly into your quart water bottle and sip throughout the day. You may use more than one flower essence.
2) Place 2-7 drops from a stock bottle into a foot bath or full body bath.
3) Place 2-4 drops from a stock bottle into a 1 or 2 ounce spritzer bottle that contains an herbal hydrosol or a diluted essential oil blend, and spritz your face, your body, and the space you are in.
4) You may also make a personal remedy bottle from a stock bottle. Gently shake the stock bottle to awaken the essence’s healing gifts and then place 2-4 drops of one or more stock flower essences into a sterilized 1 ounce (30ml) dropper bottle that is nearly filled with spring water. Some people add a few teaspoons of brandy, organic glycerin, or apple cider vinegar as a preservative; this is optional and depends on the season and the heat of your climate.
Tap the bottom of the dropper bottle with your fingers several times to awaken the life force of the flower essence blend. You may like to place your hands in a prayer gesture as you hold the bottle in your hands, and ask that this essence support your healing process. Don’t forget to label your remedy bottle!
Take 4 drops from your personal remedy bottle several times a day, directly under your tongue, especially early in the morning and when retiring for the night. If taking throughout the day, keep your bottle in a special small bag, away from your smartphone and computer. Pause, connect with your breath, your heart, and the flowers in your bottle. Keeping a daily journal and connecting with the Soulflower Plant Spirit Oracle Deck are ways to support your journey with flower essences.
Flower essences can last for several years if stored away from light, heat, and digital devices. Keep your flower essence kit in a special location; perhaps in a basket or drawer near your meditation space, or covered with a special cloth in a cupboard or closet. They are sensitive to digital devices so please place your phone in another room when handling flower essences.
